Burundi Becomes 191st Member to the World Taekwondo Federation PDF Print E-mail

Burundi, located in Africa has become the 191st member to the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF, President Jung Won Choue). It's a temporarily member for the time being, however full membership to the World Taekwondo Federation will be decided at the WTF Executive Council Meeting on July 16th in China.

Burundi Taekwondo Federation submitted all the required documents on the 25th and WTF has given them a temporary membership based on the approval of the initial documents.

Burundi with their temporary member to the WTF is eligible for WTF sanctioned compeitions. However, they do not have the right to vote until July 16th where the final decision will be made regarding their permanent membership status.

As a result of their temporary membership to the WTF, they are able to send athletes to compete at '2nd World Championship for disability' in Russia on May 11th.

With Burundi on board as a WTF member, World Taekwondo Federation among International Sports Federation (IF) has become the 10th organization to hold most international nations.
